Red-eyed Vireo (Vireo olivaceus)


Song: A tirelessly repeated series of warbled phrases with a short pause between each phrase. The male Red-eyed Vireo is famous for the tenacity of its singing. On May 27, 1952, Louise de Kiriline Lawrence followed a Red-eyed Vireo from dawn to dusk and counted its songs, a total of 22,197 (Kroodsma 2005).
