Marsh Wren (Cistothorus palustris)

Song: A variable series of bubbling and dry rattling notes. It sometimes has a mechanical quaility. Each male has a large number of distinct songs which they tend to sing with immediate variety, i.e., moving on to a new song immediately, without repeating the previous version.

Marsh Wren song, July 9, 2011, Vernon Marsh, Waukesha County, Wisconsin.
