Eastern Towhee (Pipilo erythrophthalmus)


Song: The typical drink your teeeeeee song consists of two introductory notes followed by a musical trill. There is a large amount of variation, and individual towhees usually have several versions, generally repeating one version a number of times before switching to another, but sometimes alternating two variants one after the other (Borror 1959).

Chewink Call: A throaty, ascending chewink. This call is given by both sexes when disturbed or alarmed (Stokes et al. 1983).
